SUSPENSION
SUSPENSION IS OUR SPECIALTY!
Put the suspension science and technology learned over the past 30 years into your vintage and post vintage bike.
When we’re done with your front and rear suspension,
it will look and perform like Works suspension –
Get ready to feel the difference!
Rear Shock:
The Yamaha mono-shock design had its limitations in the early days. Using our extensive knowledge, we’ve developed components that update your suspension with 40-year newer technology, which makes the early mono-shock bikes work very similar to modern bikes with linkage.

Our process starts with complete disassembly, cleaning, and close inspection of your suspension components. Aluminum shock bodies and reservoirs are hard coat anodized to reduce friction, eliminate wear, and increase fluid integrity. Internal components are modified and our Nor-Cal Vintage Racing piston, which has both low and high-speed shim stack valving, for both compression and rebound dampening, is setup for your bike, riding type, and riding ability. Spring weight is then set for your bike, riding type, and riding ability.
Front Forks:
The process starts with complete disassembly, cleaning, and close inspection of your suspension components. Aluminum fork sliders are machined down to reduce unsprung weight and prepared for low wipers. Aluminum fork sliders are hard coat anodized to reduce friction, eliminate internal wear, and extend fluid life integrity. Internal components are modified to accept current technology components. Cartridge forks are revalved and non-cartridge forks are modified to accept cartridge emulators to rider specific settings. Assembly includes new bushings, seals, and fluid. Fork springs are setup to your bike, riding type, and riding ability.
Suspension Balance:
An important factor is balance between the front and rear suspension. We strongly suggest that you consider upgrading both front and rear suspension at the same time. Our suspension modifications are proven to work together, achieving proper balance between the front and rear suspension.
